Yep, I've heard that too, also that the beater in front of the rotor will be gone.

While CNH puts one in the CR.
I don't believe that harsh, unless they go electronic stone trap like CR's, and I highly doubt that, what would you do for rock protection?
Feeding would be compromised as well.
Somebody's playen ya harsh.

I think Don is right. Unless they have made some serious changes to the front end of the machine, The beater is a critical component in the rock trap and not to mention feeding the rotor. It will be interesting to see.

The TR New Holland machines had a mechanical stone trap and no beater and fed two rotors without a beater.

So?
So does the CR but with an electronic stone trap but feeds the same.
Feeding a single rotor is a different deal and I don't think doable without out a beater which doubles as stone protection. Supposedly the CR will at least be offered the beater route by '12 as well.
Correction, a single rotor could feed without the beater, Bi-Rotor style.

Case has offered their axial flows without a stone trap for years. No beater, just the back of the feeder chain and the front of the rotor in the transition.

That's right, I stand corrected.

Works better than the ones with the beater, however no stone protection.
