Default agco 3000 series corn head owners

found this out the hard way.

came to the end of the row started raising the cornhead & one of the snouts started to fold under. as i raised the head the gathering chains hit the snout & broke 1 top drive sprocket & broke the top of the gearbox on the other. all because the chain that holds the snout up was held in by a clevis pin & spring clip. the clip was pushed out by corn stalks & pin fell out. REPLACE THESE WITH BOLTS & LOCKNUTS!!!!!

I have only lost 2 snouts from rocks. All the others have come from those dang pins coming out.

Thanks for warning....dont need something else to go wrong. Sometimes I think I should give up on AGCO. Good CaseIH dealer just 5 miles away (compared to marginal AGCO dealer 45 away). Then all my problems would be over! Right??

Please note that spring clip that holds the pin into the chains is supposed to be pushed all the way in, not just to the first detent of the clip.
