Default New Challenger combine

Anyone heard how the new Massey/Challenger combines are doing? I have heard some scuttlebutt but just wanted to see what the word is out there. I do know they ran in corn against a 9870 Deere and the 560C out performed it both in throughput, grain loss, and fuel use. What I heard was the 9870 Deere owner placed a order for a new 560C.

That wouldn't be much of a test, and should be expected. Most JD folks do not buy their combines for capacity.

The Top 10 reasons why farmers keep buying John Deere combines

#10) Dealer proximity (it's a comfort blanket) despite their modern day trend of <90% parts fill rate (The Cracker Barrel probably has a higher fill rate on JD merchandise)

#9) Peace of mind that goes with having way more horsepower than necessary, no matter that it often results in excess grain loss

#8) Rethresher

#7) My resale is better than yours (even though their dealer will take it to auction and lose their butt). Mmmm, really?

#6) The smell of green paint - beats the smell of money any day

#5) Their feederhouse controls are the same as a MacDon sp swather

#4) Nostalgia beats Performance & Quality for the title!

#3) They invented the rotary combine

#2) It's not a rotor!!!

And, the #1 reason why folks buy JD combines...

The specific data has not been released, the machines are still being tweaked some before production starts.

I like your list, it is closer to the truth than anyone will admit.

#10 has a lot of truth though... the dealerships don't carry parts on hand,, but at least they can order it. I have to deal with it either way, our dealers,, red, green, or yellow (NH), don't carry parts. If your combine breaks down,, its three days if not longer for parts to get in... if your lucky it could be next day if you order before 10 am. Some things are better, but sorry Challenger/massey combines are awesome machines, but they don't have dealers that can even fix the minor problems/ know what to look for on wear to assist me to let me buy one yet.
Totally with you on the Green paint.. worth gold to sell,, but not worth a flush to run. (unless you were ahead of everyone and bought a CTS and still keep it up)

Are you guys sure that there is even going to be a C series? From what Agco has currently been preaching is that the new Axial is going to be Massey only.
