Not sure what name changes you are referring to. They dropped the Cat name when they bought the Cat Challenger line. The Challenger name stayed. They dropped the Deutz name when they bought Deutz Allis which was formally Allis Chalmers and stuck with AGCO Allis. I believe they would have gone back to Allis Chalmers except Deutz has done sold that name off and they couldn't use it. Then they later dropped that name all together since they were essentially the same tractor as Massey Ferguson which is still Massey Ferguson. No name change there unless you go way back in history. Gleaner name has remained on the combine through 3 owners. They did go from galvanized metal to silver paint. AGCO has bought up a lot of brand names and colors. Many they merged under another name that was already in existence but that is not what I consider a name changes. Wonder what name and color they will buy next.

If it wasn't for Ferguson we would still be using pull type equipment with that handy lever to raise & lower it. Agco has some of the best eq. Lines in the world, granted they could use some improvement in managing them & dealer network but overall they are a solid company. Personally I prefer less electronic controlled options, I don't mind pulling a lever or turning a valve because you know it will work. Electrical problems are the worst to figure out in my opinion, just my 2 cents

I've had deere tractors for 30 yrs and never had to turn a manual heater hose valve off so that the air conditioner would work in hot weather, now I'm not saying they don't have a manual shut-off they probably do ,you just don't have to use it to make a/c work. All I'm saying is the B models had this problem looks like C models still have same problem, this is probably the way A models came from CAT and Agco isn't smart enough to fix the problem. Come on now its 2012 when was air conditioning first used , I guess they need to buy a cab manufacturer who has an a/c that works god only knows they will never change or redesigne anything.

That might be why I had so many compresser failures on the equipment I owned with no heater shutoffs.

All of your early John Deere tractors had manual heater shut off valves. They were just mounted in the cab console and turned left for off instead of to the right.

I have a mt 865c and i have no issues with the ac. Cools just fine when it's 30c outisde. Only place this tractor is behind the deere is the GPS. IMO everyone is behind deere in that department.

I have never saw a piece of equipment that has a cab heater not have a couple of valves to shut the fluid off to the heater as it leaves and returns to the engine... just looked at my neighbors 2011 JD 9870... and sure enough they are there.
it would be stupid for a manufacture to not install them.

All this just for a heater valve?
And deere, they take everyone else`s idea and change it a little and make it their own.
If you want change just be patient, watch the Challenger brand in 5 years, it will be good!

I am just defending my Brand ...
