Just finished harvest here in Australia I have spend the last week with wobble box problems , things keep coming loose, first the bottom arm keeps sliding down then the four bolts that hold the box on came loose and broke off, then the two bolts that hold the head on the arm came loose, can't work out the cause very little play in box , has a new knife which slides in an out easy ? Everything gets locktight on reassembly . Anyone got any ideas or past experiences ?

Andy,
Which model of flex head? What crop? When the belt and knife are unhooked form the wobble box does it turn through and change directions smooth and free? Excess vibration in the driver box points to a broken a-frame underneath the end of the head or a broken bar back( what the guards bolt to). Good Luck Tigercat |

I agree with tigercat.
Check the bar back for a break. It can be located usually within five feet from wobble box broken somewhere were a guard bolt goes through. Also verify "a-arm" bushings. It make take a come-along or a method of prying to check. Maybe take sickle belt off and run full throttle. Verify driveline runs smooth. |

Sorry not a flex head it is a grain head CS or a G series would be similar, not sure what a-arm bushings are?I assume you mean the brass bushes In the wobble box. I thought there was no play in gearbox drive pulley starts at 12 o'clock and knife changes direction at 1 o'clock, there is however 3 to 4 mm of play up and down at the arm that goes onto the knife head, this might be too much perhaps? The only way to fix that would be to replace three needle bearings or to replace bottom shaft? What are your thoughts on this
