Default Geringhoff or Drago

Fellas-

This topic has probably been discussed, but I am too lazy to search for it.

I am thinking of going to 20" rows in 2013 and am wanting to know which header you think is the best. Yesterday, I was sold on the Drago and its auto deck plates. More research has me interested in the Geringhoff RotaDisc. I have over a year before I need to make a decision, just wanting input. Thanks.

We have run both. Had a Drago chopping head for two years. It did a good job of harvesting corn but chopping wasn't that great and the underside was covered in stalk sap making it difficult to work on when it broke. The Geringhoff we ran for three years and had no breakdowns at all. Just replaced the stationary knifes at the start of each season. It didn't pick up downed corn as good as the Drago, but it shredded the stalk very well and didn't cover the underside in sap. In good standing corn it harvested just as good as the Drago. Both heads had minimal shelling at the deck plates, even in dry corn. This year we traded for a new Elite Series Geringhoff. We grow almost all corn on corn and need a reliable shredding head. Hope this helps.
