All depends in what you are looking for. Obviously the newer the better for less wear. The xtra's with the poly shields on them had heavier mounts for the gearboxes on the wings in between the discs which were prone to breaking. They also added the kemper style row fingers at this point. The older ones worked fine too as long as long as the crop discs aren't worn razor thin.
Not sure if the equivalent size is cheaper/more expensive but kempers are alot tougher. I've seen RU's just fall apart, kempers hold up a lot longer.
Also depending on which type you get (big drum/small drum) they handle grass alot better where the RU's just plug up, also dewy crops.
