My krone V12 has been shutting down on me randomly just like you turn the key off. Flip switches off and it starts right up again. It keeps fuel pressure and has a FASS fuel pump installed on it.
I have not gotten any codes when this happens but it seems like it is related to when the engine temp gets above 90 degrees Celsius and it's working hard.
Had the radiator out and cleaned and flushed this winter.
I'm not sure if your V12 would have the same electronics architecture as my 12 litre inline 6, or if it would be substantially different. My engine has a crankshaft sensor on the bell housing area near the flywheel. If it begins to get dirty I can tell by the way it becomes increasingly stubborn to start. The sensor is pushed into a friction fit rubber grommet. The sensor should be clean as well as the cavity that it inserts into. It needs to be pushed in by hand until it bottoms on a small shoulder on one side at the bottom of the hole in the casting.
Often if a crankshaft sensor stops providing a signal, the ECM will not record a code because it assumes the engine was turned off, which it was, just not intentionally.
.
It is possible for crankshaft sensors to throw other irrelevant codes.
For example if the crank sensor lets the engine coast to a stop, the still activated ECM may sense low fuel pressure from the mechanically driven gear style diesel pressure pump that I believe your engine may have to supply the electronic injectors.
.
How hot is it getting? Once it starts getting over 90 it is getting to hot. Ours shuts down around 95-100 degrees C. Wont getting a warning code it will just beep at you and engine temp icon will appear next to the the temp reading. What is your ambient temperature? We had to put thermostats in that open up around 70 instead of 80 to battle the over heating. Once it starts getting around 95-100 F outside temp we cannot push the chopper as hard or it will overheat.
Did you check the solenoid and or wiring to it. We had something similar and the screw had come loose on the wire on the solenoid.
