This summer we ran the Big X 1100 in the Big MAN tour. We run JD choppers and are kind of unfamiliar with what is out there and going on with the Krone harvesters. It was no doubt an impressive machine, but how does it stack up to the other Krone models? Is it just more horsepower or have they addressed some of the concerns out there that cause problems? Just kind of wanting some info to know if it should be considered when we trade.

The new machines are very easy to service now. 15 min maybe to blow the chopper off with a 185cfm compressor. Feedroll cabinet is a breeze to clean now, whereas it used to be the most time consuming. I think you will spend more time at the radiators than anywhere else now. They are easily accesible from both sides to now.
LOTS of junk in the trunk on that thing though. I was really impressed with the man motor. I ran the 850 not the 100 but the power curve is pretty good, and that thing continues to pull hard with a solid load on it. |

1000 has the same FAILED accelerator as the 1100 after one year. Does the 1100 cut more? Yes, it does. But for how long? Here is the part you won't like...... IMO Krone came up with the Vari-stream because they could not keep Accelerators in the machines. What does this mean if you have a machine that is only 2 years old and are plagued with problems..... Sorry about your luck you should spend another 500K and buy the newest, latest and greatest, might be fixed model.

Junior this is going to be fun! YOU ARE WRONG!!! Accelerator is not the same as in the 1000. Get on Argo parts and try to prove me wrong, you will find bearing housings to be different. Also shaft and welding on accelerator are different also. I will say I have had some accelerator problems with Krone in past, but ran great two seasons on 1100. Vari stream is a great improvement, all electronics in cab a huge plus, kp rolls still wear out to soon, but bearings and rest are great, sharpening system is reliable. All in all we are pleased, but we never had that many problems with v12 s either.

Someday you will have to eat with that mouth junior. Did you run the 1000 once it had updated parts? Maybe you are the cause? Ha,ha We have not failed a accelerator the last 3 seasons. Wish I had answers for you so you could put some of that anger to bed finally. Sure is good thing your Claas machines are perfect or you might be bashing them, then you would be stuck with NH or JD.
