Direct cut heads

I have been running a Claas Direct Disc 520 for several years now and have not been pleased with the job it does. It continually streaks between the disc and also leaves "flags". I am cutting dough stage barley and have tried different configurations of knives, different speeds, different cutting heights and nothing seems to help. Any body else with this experience? Are other brands of headers any better? Any one have experience with the Quickcut GB heads and are there any dealers in the US for them?

Joblo and 3krone have knowledge on quick cut heads, maybe we can get a comment from them. ???

Quickcut heads are similar to others as far as performance. They work really good in some conditions and others they can be more mediocre.

As far as I know there have been zero cutter bar internal failures. So that is a big plus.

I'm from Pennsylvania. I have been looking at the Capello spartan head very close and at this point leaning in that direction. Looks like they have a very good head. From what I hear every one who has one of there corn heads is really happy.

I know of a Quickcut GB 640 for sale in Ok. is where I think it is. Maybe Texas. I can get you more info if wanted. It is set up to run on a Deere. It would be simple to get it back on a Claas. I still have the adapter plate that fits in the head.
