Default Massey ferguson track tractor

I wonder how many of these tractors made it to production? Or was it a promotional deal, or experimental?

There are pictures of the versatile tractors with that same track set up on them as well.

As for how many were made? I have no idea. It would be kind of neat to see how the massey would work with that track set up and their CVT transmission.

this is a prototype. Showed at the agritechnika in Germany. There where also versions of the allis and white. What happened to this project, nobody know,s that.. Now they have the challenger line. I hope we will get a MT in Massey conversion. Or the FWD MT900 in Red whit the same cab as on the 8600 series

Spotted it over the fence at the Beauvais plant in France when MF celebrating 50 years a couple of years ago. Don't think it went any further after AGCO bought Challenger. Was shown at Agritechnica or Sima to get poples reaction.

It wouldn't have been a good design IMO, the small drive means it is a positive drive system and would have torn the crap out of the belts. If it was a tension drive it would have also been junk due to the small contact area.

It looks cool, but not the right design, hence it was never made.

Waltanna of Australia disigned the track system. They sold some of their rubber tracked tractors through Marshall in The UK for a short while. This was before Agco bought Challenger line from Cat as I remember.
