Default JD 4430 Quad Range

QUAD RANGE TRANNY!!When i shift with the clutch, the forward and backward gears work in my tranny. I have all my ranges, but i only have half the gears. My 2 and 4 gears work, so i only have half of the gears. The side to side shifting, with no clutch (the high and low), if i shift it my tranny locks up and the tractor stops immediatly. I disconected my high and low shifting the one with no clutch and it works, but i have half the gears. WHat is wrong?

Sounds to me like you problem lies within your two speed planetary. It more than likely needs rebuilt. This planetary is a hydraulicly shifted, two speed unit consisting of a compound planetary, that is controlled by a direct drive clutch, and a underdrive brake, and a control shift valve.

UNfortunately yes.At the clutch housing, remove shift valve on side of clutch housing before removing hi/lo unit.

Default 4430 quad range problem

I also have a shifting problem. All reverse gears work all high gears work but when i try to get in low gear one or two it gust slips i believe its my sincro clutches. Ive taken of the view plate and i can see a set of clutch packs not grabbing. Is this a total split job?
