My tractor set off a fault code saying that the engine air temp. Is too high coolant levels good, but the hydraulic driven fan does not engage.
Is it a fuse? Any ideas? Thanks.
By not engaging do you mean not turning at all? It should always be running, just at a slower speed. If it is turning there is a solenoid on the pump that controls fan speed, on left side of engine, with tractor at an idle unplug that and fan should run wide open, if its not running at all then you've got pump or motor problems. I had the driveshaft snap off on the pump on our stx 425, not bad to replace but gotta have guages to set high and low pressures on new pump.
The fan does not turn at all. All other hydraulic functions seem too be working fine. There is 2 large hydraulic lines going to fan motor and a small one, I'm assuming the small one in a case drain line.
