Default cih 1200 12/23 planter vs cih 5500 Drill

I am looking at buying either a cih 5500 30 ft drill with 15" spacing or a cih 1200 12/23 planter to use for beans and corn.
Would I be better off with the drill or the corn/bean combo? Thanks for the help.

I would go with the 1200, there is no drill that can match the depth control of a planter, plus should have better resale at end.

Lots of thoughts on this, the 5500 seems to have the planter row units, which would be the same as the 1200 row units, depth control would be the same on either one, seed drop on the 5500 is like any drill, hit and miss. Spacing on a 1200 is one of the best on the market. With the 1200 you have one unit to mess with for corn and beans. The 5500 should be cheap enough just to have around if you needed to plant both the same time. To answer your question, it would be a toss up. If buying just one, go with the 1200
