Duo-Rate on planter

I'm interested in some kind of an add-on device so I can change planter population on the go. Does anybody here have any experience with a Duo-Rate? Is there another company that makes a similar device?

I know Rawson is good. I know Veris is extremely innovative.

Re: Duo-Rate on planter

My planter had one on it when I bought it but we didn't know anything about it. So I took it off rather than run a wire to it and mess with it. In retrospect I should have just left it on, but I really didn't need it.

Have been around many of the Duorate and they work great.
Ralph and Marlene Weeder do a great job, have known them for years. They are great people.

Re: Duo-Rate on planter

I've been using the Rawson Accu-Rate for almost ten years and I really like it. It's been very trouble-free and user friendly. It's easy to calibrate between different crops; I can usually do in it 5-10 minutes. I can go from planting corn at 30K to milo at 85K just by pushing a couple buttons and counting some seeds. I can't see myself going back to a ground-driven system.

Re: Duo-Rate on planter

I've got a Big John controller with the hydraulic drive unit for sale. It is the best seed monitor out there, bar none. It will also control 2 complete flow control systems as well, at the same time.

It allows you to input 5 different seeding rates to choose between while planting.

I really miss the seed monitoring capabilities of the Big John. Many of the deere test stands are built on the same monitor. It will truly allow you to plant picket fence stands if everything else is up to snuff.

But is not compatible with the can buss deere is using today.
