In an 07 379 radio comes in like cap. Seems like for fm if going opposite direction from radio station comes in best and am pretty much nothing. With truck off and key on accessory radio comes in good.
Some radios are garbage. I bought an after market Kenwood and it picked up stuff further away than I thought possible. The factory radios seem to be horrible for reception.
Was your truck ordered with a separate am/fm antenna? or are the mirror mounted cb antenna the only ones?
If it does not have a separate antenna the problem is probably the multiplexer that splits the cb signal from the am/fm signal coming from the cb/am/fm antennas. If the CB whips have been replaced there is a good chance that they were replaced with regular CB antennas, not the special multiband ones that work "better".
what I have done in the past is get rid of the multiplexer, which should be mounted somewhere in the overhead console, and use the CB antennas for the CB and go to the local car parts store and buy a replacement "Rubber Ducky" AM/FM antenna and mount it on the roof somewhere convenient and run the cable to the radio.
