We are getting 19 and 19 for the machine. Break at 50 to 80 depending on yield. Getting an extra $3 for a row crop head...

Holy cow, we don't charge near enough. In irrigated corn we are at 25 per acre and .05 per bushel.
If we charged 40 per acre on milo we would not get any custom work

I was shocked at what going rate in my "home" community had gone to. When we used to cut a lot milo we cut it by the bushel and it was not near as lucrative as it seems to be now...

That's why you ended up in Colby where it's the cheap rate right Brad? I told ya you didn't want any part of the Fall harvest in Colby this year.... rain (over an 1" so far) and snow tonight... you and I would probably end up at twisters more than we'd like

It has been several years since I have custom cut milo but wow the price has gone up. I don't know when we will start. We are about 70 miles east of Alex and we are wet with rain falling now. I hope the snow stays west of us . I've got a tracked machine so maybe it will work out.

just find the competive price for the area and dont under bid just to get a job. that never helps anyone. Vieth bros came in last year when the rate was $27 per acre plus hauling and droppped to $21 . i heard this year they are trying for $18 plus hauling they do a sorry job and cut rate to get acres soon they will be gone. They cant get the acres i have lined up but farmers talk and always want a better deal if you get someone to drop stupid around.
