Last week I talked to a cutter who starts around Seymour and he was thinking he might be going around the 15th. He said the wheat was pretty burned up. We start between Altus and Mangum this year, and after talking to the farmers I think it'll be more toward the end of May for us. As with most things, weather will play a big part in that.

I went with Eaton Harvesting out of Scott City, Kansas in 1998 and we started in Seymour also! We left on May 15th that year. Good luck. When we left Scott City it was 55 degrees, when we pulled into Seymour it was 115 degrees at 7:00 p.m. That was quite a shock on the system.

I live about 60 miles northeast of Austin. Saturday a guy that lives around here cut a sample that went 18.4. So it'll still be atleast a week.

JD Boy last i heard the wheat was looking good around hobart but that was a month or more ago. Havent heard any recent reports, i know that it froze down there sumwhere couple weeks ago i thought not sure if it went that far south. I used to cut around hobart and gotebo. Sounds like the other crews from my hometown are heading down there around May 20-25th.
