Don't quite know if you have a chopper or spreader. If you have a spreader you are limited. If you have a straw chopper you could put a powercast tailboard on. I have one and on a calm day they will spread over 40 feet. You can also put a TSR rotor in. They have a similar design to the Redikop chopper with the fan blades on the ends.

We run 2 9750's with the wide spread option on the spreader and are doing no-till wheat in North Texas and yes it works very well. We like the fact that the straw pieces stay larger to slow decomposition in our hot dry climate. Years ago I wouldn't have a combine without a chopper. Now with the wide spread option and no-till I wouldn't have one with a chopper.

We have one with chopper only and the other is spreader only.
The spreader spinners have cracks and welds, so we need to replace. The wide spread cost more, but sounds like it is worth the money. Thanks Tmcalister and andyr for the input. |
