we have 3 - 36' honey bees and before we go to the field we check every bolt on the header, did that with new massey's too!!!!!!!!!!! saved alot of headaches in the field. there is also an update to re-enforce the ends of the aluminum bats, have had alot of issues the last couple of years with the ends cracking on the u 2 reels bats, hope this helps. all in all im happy with the deere honey bee combo, we covered 8000 acres of canola with it.

I would like to know why anybody would buy that when you could buy a home grown product such as Macdon.

Yup I bet if you threw it into a multi deal with a few tractors you could get the Versatile for almost half the price of a MacDon.

Been down that road before and learned cheap is not always better. If they are really cheap it would make me wonder were they are cutting corners.

I would guess it's in the electronics.... I'm guessing the structural parts are sound, but it's the fuses, relays, wiring, etc. I would be leary about. Also who supplies their hyraulic components?

Electronics are all Bosch... and electronics are cheap as he"" these days....

Hydraulic systems are Sauer-Danfoss.

I'd want to take a look at one first before I passed judgement. Since most of the Versatile dealerships I know of are already attached to an established dealer of another full line brand, I wonder if the dealerships will be receiving some pressure from the Main line brand to sell there brand over the versatile. The drop in price may be to establish some market share, and help establish a dealer network.

Not having seen one I can't comment on the build quality. It will be interesting to see how they hold up, and if they can make an impact into the north american market place.

From what I can see from the pictures posted. the metal work is circa 80's or older. nothing laser cut and bent like the north American ones all are nowadays. Its all scraps of metal welded together to make a part. cant see how they can be cheaper with all the added welding and work involved with that kind of process.

On the honeybee header, I cant figure out why other people have problems with them and I dont. I bought it used 5 years ago, go over about 2000 acres a year and still have the original canvases. and they dont track perfect either but they still last
