My neighbor was buying a new FWA loader tractor last month for cash. Dealer wouldn't move any farther on the deal but threw in a nice 555, sort of like a hat or coffee mug.
I have an aging brain cell that tells me the 8850 V8 is a Saab engine. I really don't know. |

Currently have a 555. 555 V8 went several years ago and now has a 8.3 Cummins in it. Front axle broke in 2006. Went through two split rims on the same axle. Many tires. Has cost us alot of $$$$$$$$$$$ over the years, but is nice for spraying through the wet spots.

, allot more useful...You might be thinking the Case 4994, it had a V8 Scania diesel, it's little brother the 2870/4890/4894 had the I6 Scania in it.

We had a 555 for a number of years. Motor was flawless for us, but not everyone had the same result. Our biggest problem was the infamous axle issue. The sun gear would start to flake, and being an inboard, we had one diff eat her pups. Too many $$. Turned the gears around in the other axle, ran it for a bit, and moved to a 946. I never knew heaven was so close.
I really liked the 555 when we had it, but would not spend much money on one. Our muffler got soft, so it ended up with a strait pipe with a venturi. Loved the sound. We pulled a 40' digger and a 5 shank DMI. Might be why the axles went. |
