Default Cummins V903

Anoyone own a 935? Just wondering what the success/complaints were of the engine setup? Anyone high hours on a non rebuild? Were these engines notorious for problems like I seem to be hearing?

I had one turned up to 350hp in a Ford fw60. Bought it with 2200 hrs. sold it at 6000. never touched the engine other than cummins tuneups, good on fuel .4 gallons/acre pulling 45' flex 5000 with shovels. would have been perfect with powershift trans. not alot off torque compared to 855. the guy i sold it to put bearings in it but said the old ones weren't that bad. it even sounded mean.

Is it a horse power issue or a reliability issue have a friend that can get 2800 hp out of them and they last at that hp just depends on how much you want to spend !

Is that the only difference between a 935 and a 835, having the 903 vs. the 855? I don't think I really ever noticed that before...

Not sure, but I think the 895, the 935 and the 950 had heavier axles. The 895 had a 15.5" clutch and the rest had a 14" clutch.

We had a 950. Probably the best tractor we ever owned. Would pull like a locomotive. Way more torque then the 976 that replaced.

976 had the 855 right? Must have just been turned up to have more HP? Or I guess they started using electroic injection in the designation 6? In the 5 series the hp was 230-310 out of the 855? Then in the desigation 6 they were getting 350 or so out or the 855 and using the L10 for the under 300hp tractors?
