What do people think of a fixed airfoil chaffer on an 8120 doing high moisture corn? I've read they aren't the best for high moisture but are fine for low moisture corn. What are people's experiences? Thanks

I had one in a 1688 , I cut soybeans, wheat, and low moisture corn , but never cut high moisture anything. I liked it, it was so light never had bushing trouble, but have not had another since.

AFAIK, they are not as good for high grain loads on the shoe. Basically, they have less open area than an adjustable chaffer. They are best in small grains like wheat and especially canola.

Yea, that screen is light, combine i bought last cut corn, im going to give it a try. I have been thinking about these aftermarket screens you can buy. i have bought two after markets for my old combine and the guy i got em from said they were heavier than OEM, i thought that was a selling point. but the more i think about it proly not!
