My point was why should a land Lord get mad if a farmer buys equipment to operate his business. But then you negotiate rent and the land Lord acts like you are taking food off there table but then leave for vacation for a month.

440duster and 361turbo like this.

Had a land lord yesterday thank me for the new camper they just picked up, apparently that is where my rent check goes, not that I care. I laughed and told them it doesn't matter to me what you spend it on, its gone when it leaves my account.

isn't kinda funny if you buy new equipment you are not paying enough, but if you don't land owners don't like it because you have a " bunch of out dated junk" it seems that they want there ground taken care of with the attention of a small too mid size farmer but the machine parade of a super operation. not all ground is equal some is a rusted out ford escort some a new Cadillac and all landowners want the highest rent

Its just a matter of time, with grain market's the way they are, look at auction sale prices, yes greedy farmers created this mess or investor's that bought land, rent going down, it should if market's stay this way, property taxes coming down, I would have to see it to believe it, Scott.

Nothing at all. Just like nothing is wrong with a farmer driving a new pickup truck.
Licensed to kill likes this.

There is no reset here in my neck of the woods, no land for sale, no land for rent. Rent is NOT going down here. I wish it would but I can't see it. Maybe things would be different if we had a crop failure coming up but we are having a good if not great crop coming so it's the status quo.

It looks like the guys that want to be the big dogs are doing it to themselves and I do not feel sorry for them. They have made the rents go up for everyone else. I will just farm the 1300 acres that I own and let the other guys succeed or fail as it may be.

They all want to be the BIG dog in the pack;. I saw one land lord actually reduce the rent After putting all new center pivots on his land because the boys were crying after they offered more rent than anyone in the county. I sure do not feel for them.

Same here dude. Rent land is hard to find and Farmland is even more scarce.

I prefer Diesels.

This would make more sense if you filled out your location under your user name so we all have a idea where here is. Colin.
