Just like the question says who plans on moving into a new 2012 CR Tier 4 combine? We have ran new holland for the last ten years starting back with a TR99, CR940, CR9040, Cr960..ect and have been very pleased with the results of all machines and cant complain especially with the dealer service and the pricing we get on the machines, so needless to say we have sold our 2010 CR9040 and will probably be looking at getting into another new machine next year. We currently have a 6 row chopping drago and a 25' NH740 flex head. We will be looking at selling the corn head and getting into a 12 row chopping drago head and possibly a 30' platform depending how many bean acres we end up with. From looking at the specs on the new machines the CR6090, CR7090, CR8080 all apear to have the same rotor size, grain tank size, unload rate, cleaning are...etc. with the only real difference being in the power department. The CR6090 has a rated HP of 360, with a peak of 401. Would this be sufficient enough for a 12 row chopping head? We dont need a whole lot of capacity as we dont run a lot of land but its enough and dont really have to get in a great big rush and we have to combine a mph slower and take a few more days its no big deal. Im wondering if the CR6090 would be able to lift a 12r chopping head without modifications? Any insight would be great. Thanks.

I would say that you will have enough HP.. if you dont want to go real fast. The 400 is close... if you have a lot of muddy conditions I would look. Bigger in the HP catagory... that is the 9l iveco right? Not familiar with the NH numbering... I would see about similar HP with the bigger engine.. chopping takes power!

So, in saying this, the new 9090 is actually the old 9080. No actual european 9090 until they get to tier 4 standards I think. Last edited by Jester RM; 12-15-2011 at 01:48 PM. |

We absolutely loved our drago head. After running a new holland head, harvestec, john deere, and talking to other farmers in our area about geringhoff and case IH heads we feel drago is a superior head to all others. Minimal shelling and we ran it for 2 years with no problems. It matched up with the 9040 quite well. The 9065 could be a possible option if we could find a new one for the right price. We have always had better luck with our dealer getting us into a brand new current machine and a new machine thats a year old or so. Right now we are probably leaning towards a new 2012 model.

We're also looking at possibly a new machine for 2012, we are currently running a TR 89, 4wd, 30'aw, 6 row. We have ran New Hollands for years but, due to our local dealer going under recently we are looking into a few different options. 1. NH CR6090 or 2. Case IH 6088. I believe these are comparible units.? Any suggestions as to whats a better unit?

Looking at a CR8090, 4WD, twin pitch rotors, stainless & adjustable rotor covers, chopper etc. 40' Macdon. Would be interested in the pricing of what people have been quoted. Don't know if that rock trap is working well & what price. ASP seems to work pretty well.

jrtorry just judging off the case specs I think their new 7130 would be the most comparable to the CR6090. Im sure both are going to be great machines....probably just will come down to dealer support and what you can get a better price on.
