I would try to compare with your yield monitor do one pass at 3mph watch loss monitor and yield then one pass at 5mph if losses are higher and yield is same speed is not tied in if yield is lower speed may be tied in to loss monitor. I would look at the ground on each pass as well to see if losses are significantly more on one side to the other as well. I've never checked on my 9600 but always assumed that the loss monitor was just measuing how many hard things are hitting the sensors nothing to do with speed you can adjust the sensitivity so you also need to know where your sweet spot is in loading the combine in order to accurately set the sensor.
