Does anyone know if the grain loss monitors on CR's figure in ground speed into the loss readings. As an example if at 3mph monitor shows a certain level of loss and if it shows a higher level of loss at 5mph. are your /acre losses really higher at the faster ground speed. Would be nice if monitor took ground speed into consideration.

The TR-99 I had the loss monitor took ground speed into the formula.
I am certain that the CR's do to, but not 100% sure. Easy to try, load sieves up at 5 mph, then quickly come to a complete stop. Losses should show high when stopped, as computer sees no acres being harvested. |

Don't a lot of these systems take into account an "average" of the last few seconds...for some reason I was thinking Deere's work with a 30 second average or something built in. I'm not sure your reading is 100% "at this point in time". I'm not sure if a quick stop would really tell you anything but I don't know. I'm pretty certain though the reading shows you how many kernels it is counting hitting the pad....I don't think speed has anything to do with it. It's not a "bu/acre being thrown out the back" gauge, it's a "how many seeds are being lost" gauge, which doesn't have anything to do with speed.

Both my Case 2388 and Gleaner R62 have the paddle sensors for loss. The time it takes to average the loss can be adjusted, but I don't believe ground speed is a factor. Just seed loss per unit time.

The TR-99, once monitor was set, and you slowed down rapidly the loss lights would shoot up into the red. Dont have combine any more, so cant read in op manual what it says about it.
I know you asked about CR's, maybe I will look in that op manual sometime. |

May, that's cause you are emptying out the machine. That's why the cr's will slow the fan speed down when turning around is cause a fan set for a loaded shoe will blow out grain once the chaff and everything begins to clear. Grain loss is just set to a sensitivity of hard objects ticking the sound board.
