I hope it's not a foolish question, but can a yield monitor be adapted to older gleaner like M2-L2-F2? Some might say it's like putting racing wheels on a Model T Ford, but for some of us smaller guys it could be a usefull tool.

Just put a Ag Leader yield monitor on my M3 this year. They have new sensors, but you need to find an older read-out. I am using a PF Advantage on mine. It is VERY accurate and I think will be a useful tool to help with managing the farm operations.

Here is another one to consider, they guarantee ease of install and full compatibility with older combines. I plan to install one of these myself for next year.
Loup Electronics, monitors, yield monitors, yield monitor, sensor, harvest, gps |

I talked to the sales guy at Agleader about this stuff. He said that the yield kit runs $1,400, Moisture $450, and GPS outfit @$1,000. So thats $2,850 and you still need to get a monitor which they don't make anymore. You have to find a used YM2000 or PF3000 someplace. A wild guess is $500-$1,000? So from what I gather you could have nearly $4,000 tied up. How does this sound to you? Makes me wonder........
