I only have a 2yr associate degree from a jr college but I don't know how you could change colors and still have a Gleaner.Gleaners are silver,Deeres are green and Case Ih is red. Some things are meant to stay the same. Some of the new generation of farmers actually look at machinery for what it is/does and how that effects their profitability. The chances for them to use a different color are greater than their fathers or grand fathers.I understand the Stealth drew some in but it isn't like they didn't know it was a black Gleaner.
Here's an idea. Offer it in color of the rest of their machinery, just so it won't look out of place. Well.......that don't work either. I don't see any other color making a guy buy one. Make the best machine and it will sell itself. Can't be equal,it must be measurely better! |

They allready took our silver tractors, they also took our orange tractors, they have taken enough, leave the combines silver! Long live the legend of the field, the Gleaner.

In my area (Southwestern Ontario) Gleaners are finally starting to make a small comeback (we've got some excellent dealers now). Not to be paranoid but I'd hate to jinx their newfound popularity by changing colours. Besides, Orange clashes with red, Massey red doesn't match CIH red but silver goes with any colour! I'd say keep 'em silver!

I do some custom work, and like it or not people like good looking machines on their property. The shinnier the better. We try to atleast quickly clean off the outside of our machines everytime we load them up (insides get fully cleaned out to prevent the spread of weeds).

This is a good subject! Even though I love the silver paint, I wish that the Gleaner had galvanized tin back on it. Now that is something that sure nuff looks good, especially if it would hold it's shine like when it left the factory. I use to wonder why they can't apply a sheet of tape that looks like galvanize over the existing gal. so thay it would maintian that new look!! I think that would be sharpe especially if it looked EXACTLY like the old Gleaner's
