I think if I was replacing the cylinder bars I would replace all on the thresher side and only every other bar on separator side. If you do go with the high low setup put the worn bars on the low positions. I would go with Trimpe wide spaced bars on the separator side in the high position to help shred the material to let the grain out. They are also good bars for the thresher side but can damage more corn in dry conditions. They will last a long time. The only bars the old N5 has ever had in it for 15 years and still no wear.

When into cylinder check the helical bars for wear and double stack the bars on thresher side. You may need to add another row of bars on end towards gear box. Make sure it has the helical line up bars between the thresher side and separator side. They connect the steep helicals to the short separator helicals. This will fill in the gap where material use to stall. To improve separation remove one section of the the short helical bars from the bottom of the cage. Once you get it home and into it a little more keep posting pictures so we can help you decide what does and does not need replacing. Might be able to help you out with some good used parts.

It looks like it has steep pitched channel helicals which is what you want. Hyper mods site would have most of the info you need. The 6 sided ( double angle) belt drives the distribution augers and it last for ages that belt. On the main drive shaft RH behind the varible rotor drive there is a pulley with a double B section belt. Its only 5 or 6" but it can't have any wear as it drives most of the machine and any slippage will give you trouble. You can get a new one machined and shrunk onto the main pulley as they are all in one. You may also need to regroove other pulleys by the look of the main drive belt.

Thank you for the info David and Silverrod. I will check the double B section belt. Siverrod, by regrooving do you mean polishing?

No if its worn it needs to be taken of and regrooved in a lathe.
