Default 3000 hugger corn head

I have always been disappointed in the amount of head shell that I have had with the hugger head. I think most of it is coming from the gathering chain carrying kernels over top sprocket. As I understand there is a field install kit from agco that greatly solves this problem. Has anyone run a head with this kit on it. I have not seen what the kit looks like but hope it works or will consider other brand. Any opinions welcome. Thanks

I have a 2010 8row 38, it seems to shell corn like you decribed also, especially before it dries up in the mornings. Once the ears dry out it dosn't do it as bad. I would like to know if theirs something available that would help also, really like the head except for that!

trade the head off for a Gerringhoff! we put the plates in to stop losing corn our problem was the deck plates mainly, the inserts don't help that much and it should have been standard when it came out. this will be our one and only gleaner head. we run it on a 9790 had a 883MF and loved it, i thought you were supposed to get a better head when you trade we went down hill!
