Default R62 unloading auger vibration

I have 1997 R62 and when unloading the grain tank the auger starts to shake more than I think it should as it empties out. I was wondering if it is out of balance or possibly bent a little? It runs fine when the auger it full. I have not unloaded on the go before and so haven't unloaded at full throttle and would that cause problems when unloading on the go into a grain cart. Thank you for any help.

I have a 1998 R62 that had the same problem. It ended up being the coupler that joins the outter (long unloading auger) with the auger from the bin. There is a coupler right after the U-joint where the arm swivels. There is an inspection port about 2 feet or so up the outter tube.

Anyway, there are Rubber softeners in the coupler that wear out and then you have to replace the coupler. not a bad job, and the part is relatively in-expensive.

Have you checked the bushes. The one on the end of the auger has thrust bearing as well. The shaft where they go may need replacing. If my auger is folded in too quickly before auger stops spinning it will bend the square shaft at the uni.

Thanks for the pointers. This last year was the first harvest season for me with this machine, I will check these areas out when I get a chance to. Thanks again.

When unloading is it a vibration or does the auger shake? We had our shock absorbing coupler go a few years ago and it started as a rattle and quicly became a shake. It is an easy fix.

Hi keystone, that sounds like what mine is doing. It kinda starts out as a rattle then starts shaking. Thanks for the info, I'll look into it when I can.

somebody may have put new auger flighting on the floor auger and not balanced it. It will vibrate pretty bad then.
