595 not changing gear

My new to me 595 wonít change from first to second. Im pressing the brakes while changing from first into neutral and that works but going to second wonít. Although it makes the same sounds as if itís trying. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Some times it will change gears but the light on the switch will not light up that it is in second. I assume you have driven it to confirm it is still in first. To go into the road gear or fast second you have to turn off the switch along the right window that deactivates all the electrical components before you can get up to 18 mph. You will know if the switch is pressed or deactivated because you will not be able to change the height of the the feeder house when it is on.

are you going from 1st to N to 2nd? I was told never ever ever never put it in neutral on the 585. by 3 neighbors and a service guy who have had them them get stuck in gear. One guy when starting to tear into the tranny got it unstuck after draining the fluid.

our 585r did that, turns out the module was shot .. replaced it and it works
