Bad cooling pump on header drive gear box

Any of y’all guys having problems with this little gear pump. It the one that circulates the oil form the headerdrive gear box to the cooling plate under the feeder house. Mine quit pumping. And you can smell a faint smell of gear oil in the cab. Also what’s the big part inline. Is it a filter. If so is it serviceable.

Not seen that pump on my 595 or 480 but I’d imagine that pump may have failed from debris from you gearbox. Is the pump seized or just not producing flow. If it’s no flow the filter may be plugged causing the pump to overheat from lack of lubrication for itself. The in-line part could be a screen filter. Depends if it’s on the pressure or suction side. Take it out and look. Quicker than waiting for speculative reply’s. What the header drive gearbox on.

Supposedly the pulley has only one set screw to hold it to the shaft and it can work loose and the pulley can spin on the shaft. The newer pulleys have 2 set screws. There is also a new drain plug that has a magnet . That would have given you some indication of something going wrong.
