575 reel turning backwards, and can’t change speed.

Cut several beans this year with no trouble and then switched to corn for a while. Today we switched back to beans and when I started the head, the reel was turning backwards. It’s an FD70 if it matters.

I was on the phone with dealer tech support and was looking at the reel drive pump and noticed the shaft that comes out of the front of it. I rotated it and it only turns less than a 1/4 turn and stops. I figured out that if it’s turned one way the reel is reversed, turn it the other way and it runs forward.

I can’t change the speed of the reel now either. It is fixed speed at about 5 mph. If I leave the separator running, I can turn the feeder house off and on and it will always be running forward. Whenever I shut the separator off and turned it and the feeder house back on, it would be running in reverse again. All I had to do was get out and rotate the shaft and it would run forward again.

So what is this shaft and any ideas on why this is happening all of the sudden? Thanks

Turns out it was a roll pin sheared off on top of the pump. The shaft I pointed out is on the bottom, the top of that shaft has a roll pin that attaches it to the actuator that turns the pump off and on and changes speed.
