Combine rear axle setting

Does the setting of the rear axle height make much difference in the cleaning performance of a 480?

Mine has 20.8*42 front and little 500 trelleborgs on the back. Seems to sit rear low.

If I were to raise the rear how much would that help the cleaning system work. Would that improve my grain tank sample?

Re: Combine rear axle setting

The 460 we have had 18.4 38 and 18.4 26 on the back. It was really reared up. Our 480 had the same combo as your's. We swapped rear tires and also stuck shims in where the axle slides. Both combines look much better. We run 12 row heads on both and never have a shoe cleaning or capacity problem.
