Contour Buddy On MacDon Headers

Who is using the Contour Buddy System and how do you like them?
Would you buy it again? The price is now about $6400 from MacDon.

I thought they were the best thing since sliced bread.....until it snowed. Then the ground was too wet and they build up with mud and quit turning. Then they bulldoze. A non issue with some soil types and usual fall moisture but a big issue here this year.

That is correct. Wheels come off for cutting on the ground.

That’s my concern, inability to cut low for a very short period of time in a lodged crop draw for example.
Rolling up of wheels in sticky soil conditions crosses my mind in heavy clay soils.

On the flip side being able to run in flex off ground all the time is appealing.

See they didn’t suffer any price decrease when MacDon took them over.

We found in lodged durum, header tipped all the way ahead and reel out and down picked the crop up well, while using buddy wheels.
