Did you ever drag up a long since forgotten memory for me.
I took a 30' 960 MacDon offset header and made it center delivery.
Cut half 1/2 the difference out of the right side, added it to the left.
So I had all the parts, it was just torch and wielding work.
Done by a profession wielder during a quiet period in the energy patch.
Cliff Majak for you locals.
I afraid what your proposing just isn't practical, in addition you'd have reel width issues.
Sorry, but forget it.
Wonder what ever became of that header?

last year we just bent the gatherers out 6" each side, gathered 40ft, cut 39ft

There is somewhere in victoria that extendes the fronts... A bloke did that with a 2042 39' this year.. made it into a 41' centre mount front.. cost about $12,000 i think... The front is sitting in temora waiting to go.. You wouldn't notice that it's had the work done if you didn't look for it... I'll chase up some phone numbers if your keen

$12,000? He must have been out of his mind, you could trade a 3 year old 39' in on a new 40' for about that price.

Why just stop at ony 40 feet? It would seem for all that effort, to make it at least 44 ft or even a little wider.
