Hi we run a 9750sts and are looking at a fd70 just wondering if anyone knows if our machine will lift a 40ft and also if the 35 and 40 foot heads are centered on the combine or offset? Also wondering what options there are on the fd70 that i should make sure i order it with

FD70 is centered. Some options work better for different situations. Most dealers will prefer to sell you what is best for your area and situation.

Re: Macdon FD 70

On my farm we run D60-Ds and I would recommend the following options

- Transport package with guage wheels (you can't always drive a 40ft down the road)
- Float/tilt indicator
- Hyd Header tilt
- Double knife drive

Some options that come standard on the 40fts are fore/aft and poly skids. Some guys like the upper cross auger but we grew 1500 ac of peas and didn't feel we needed them. We run 9870s with the HUR auger plus some 3ft extensions from Stewart steel that allow us to unload into a truck or grain cart. With the standard 9750 auger you would never be able to unload into a truck with out backing in. Our previous 9860 would barely lift a 7400lbs header on high idle and the FD70 weighs almost 8000lbs, I think you would have trouble lifting it with a 9750.
