Thanks for more good pictures, Don.

What weight do you figure the digger is, cause there looks to be some serious steel in that machine?

a couple of roller brackets bent because it was down in the dirt. had a little welding and straightening to do. it took maybe half an hour.
the digger weighs a bit under 60,000 lbs. most of it is on the rear axle which is why she sank there.

Wow that digger was stuck
Nice digger thought How fast can you harvest at.
One the only digger's in the world that you can get stuck is a 4 row self propelled Grimme textron it has a 4 or 5.5 foot wide tire on the back and has a 2-2.5 foot tires on the front.

That reminds me of a Lenco Harvester. There are 2 of them in these parts. We run a Lockwood 472AH. In our area we use an airhead for seperating rocks and such.

Re: more self-propelled potato digger pics

it all depends on the conditions. soil type, moisture, amount of foliage. the slowest i have ever dug in a stretch was 1.8 mph. and the fastest was 6.7 mph. the average is probably 3 mph.

i am working on doing this years updates now. i will post some pictures later.

dcfarms. we also have a lockwood 4620 for a spare which is very close to a 472h. and we also have an older 4500.
