16,000,000 btu's at 4000btu's a lb is 4000 lbs of biomass to dry your malt. I used 4000 btu's a lb in my calculation because depending on the biomass you plan on burning it can vary, from flax straw that is very dry, to some that is 18% moisture. Any where a bare flame can contact metal not shielded by a water jacket, can and will warp from my experience. There are so many ways to you can utilize hot water as energy. Different biomass contains different btu's and efficiency. lots of chimney and a small fan should keep that rolling good. Size of burn chamber is important if you aren't available to fill. 4000 lbs is roughly 3 round bales depending on size.
