Flexi-coil 4" paired row not performing

Just went to a 4" paired row carbide flexi sead boot, from a 3" on our flexi 5000. We run the stealth body system with the nh3 and a 1" tip. With the 4" boots it almost like they are 'plowing' or "pushing" rather that " gliding" through the soil. The 4" boots are cast different and seem to be more aggressive and have some different angles to them. Got 30 acres on them and had the odd plugged seed boot. As well as the odd nh3 run plugged, and conditions are ideal. Anyone else on here running the same style of boot that could shed some light ? Should a guy be shimming the top bolt to change the angle a bit? As you can see in the pics it builds up between the two **** on the bottom of the boot, then eventually plugs the nh3 run. Any insight is appreciated !

it looks like its tilted up on the front too much to me.. or at lest the holes on the boots are shaped wrong for your openers

I have no experience with the stealth openener because we have always used the Dutch paired row opener. I would lower the drill till the tips just about touch the ground and then look at the angle of the opener body in relation to the ground. The body of the opener where the seed comes out should be close to parallel to the ground with a slight angle tipped forward. If it has a steep angle forward in comparision to the ground then the soil will not flow over the opener right. Have you talked to the dealer that sold you the tips? If you could get a hold of a product support person with Flexicoil it would be a big help.

Well first off you are correct in wanting to shim the top bolt and change the angle of the opener. They actually make and sell a shim to put in there. You only have to loosen the bolts and slide it in from the top. Since we installed those shims we hardly ever plug a run. (Note I didn't say never!)
However, I think your bigger problem might lie in your nh3 delivery. From your picture, it doesn't look like you are using tubes and insulators inside the boot. It looks like you just have your hose placed directly into the boot. Causing the dirt to freeze to the boot plugging it up.
