Seeding Mishaps/Thoughts

Well hows is the spring seeding going folks?

Were just over half done as of today... it's a good feeling.

Have any interesting stories, happenings or thoughts...??

[Bored sitting in the tractor seeding canola.... 4 mph....]

My thought of the day:
are emojis just modern day hieroglyphs....?? Or vice versa....?

And here is my sad day report... why , why....?? Why today of all days...?!?....20190517_204312_1558147405343.jpg

Took out about 50 yards of fence line, turning on the headland about an hour ago. I blame the dust and lack of sleep.

Outside tine hooked it. Didn't see. Luckily it is a old fence, the wire broke, otherwise it might have been more than just 50 yards

Nou wat nou?

I don't want to jinx anything, but this has probably been one of our best springs I can ever remember. Nothing too major or out of the ordinary has happened, yet. Got a couple quarters of canola in so far, kind of dogging it because of this stupidly cold weather. Could finish in 4-5 days if we wanted to, but not sure about putting in all the canola at once when it's still freezing every other night. Guess the worst thing so far is the mouse that got in the tractor when I left in the field for a day, had a litter of little ones under the seat, am going to vacuum it out in the morning.

It's easy enough to be pleasant, when life goes by like a song. But the man worth while, is the man with a smile, when everything goes dead wrong!

Drill sitting in pieces waiting on manifolds. Had some of thoes plastic ones on a 1060 cart that start leaking. Figured we would replace them before starting on Barley. Ripped the old ones off and found out the ones they got us are the wrong ones. Should be in torrow morning
Just got done fixing sprayer. **** fence must have moved 2 feet in closer. Just another day on the farm

Just came in from redoing about 70 acres of canola.

Been taking it easy as well cause it's so cold. Started doing a field. 70 acres later seen my lids weren't latched down on my tank. [email protected]#$ER!

I guess the good part is I'm assuming I didn't loose that much seed. So guess I'll be working backwards and see where I end up when I'm done.

Oh the Joy's.......

We wrapped up, hopingh for a rain, its been a long time since we had a beneficial rain.
Started april 27 an took a week off inbetween and hauled grain and dirt, finished planting canola today. Easy spring just need a rain, and no frost.

Broke my rule of “never start planting beside the road” of course nothing but problems, plugged runs and plugged primaries. It will be a nice mess when it comes up. SMH.
