a lot of farm trucks up here do pull super b's making a 18 speed and 430 plus hp a must have. you may get by with less gears if you are always on hard ground and no hills.

Re: volvo hwy. tractors

From my experience the Volvo trucks are some of the best built and dependable trucks there are. The Volvo engines are the most reliable engine available in NA. I agree with the other posters though that you may be limited to a dealer for service on the odd occasion that you need it. There are only two problems with Volvos. One if you expect it to ride and handle like a truck, it doesn't... think luxury car. Two, owning a Volvo is about like a Massey tractor, you better like it 'cause you'll own it until it's time for the scrapyard.

We have two 1995 volvos. Seems like they are ok. No resale value on them but they are cheaper to buy. The only thing I was told to watch on them was the front cab mounts by the firewall like to crack out.

Re: volvo hwy. tractors

i think you would be happy with a volvo they ride nice turn good and are quiet. i would say go with big horsepower you won't regret it. after you buy it you will be glad you did if you dont need it now you never know what the future will bring.the extra hp. wont hurt anything but it will be there when you want it we have 550 horse motors that get the same millage as 350 horse when pulling the same wt.
