Meridian for me!! I suffered through the Westfield swing away to many yrs and the weak shafts on gearboxes. The bearing that constantly fails on the bottom of the long flighting. I have a new Brandt bagger and a extremely used Loftness extractor that has given no grief so far. I considered a 13 X 80ish Brandt auger but after reading this I better stick with Meridian. I have 2 new meridians. One that has filled my dryer last 2 seasons with 130,000 bu of zero attention. A 10 x53 loading auger as well new for last 2 yrs. The auger is awesome but the 35 Briggs was the worst $4300 piece of junk built. Not Meridians fault. Slowly but surely step by step I am making this engine usable. One coil that refuses to fire the plug when -30. Took me forever to figure out the grief. Remove the plug when cold and had spark but not blue. -15 or warmer and it would run 2 cylinders everytime trouble free. Fuel pump has now been replaced with an electric. Was told that was a Kohler fix but apparently needed on my briggs as well. I have had all the throttle linkage pieces with their little snap clips come off occasionally as well as the chokes. Carb the shield that acts as a intake heater in winter on the muffler fell off damaging some of my belt and some knicks on the magnet wiring etc. I think this new generation of workers can't chew gum and think at the same time in these factories.
