Walmart great value brand is $2.70 Canadian. I sell the free range at 3 and I have seen as high a 6 for free range at some city farmer markets.

If it is broken, fix it. If it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

I did not come out and say it but the $.40 USD/Dozen eggs were at Wal-Mart. We do not go there often but I am amazed when we go.

In Ont. you can keep up to 99 laying hens without quota. And yes there are inspectors that travel the roads checking in on you if you have a sign out at the end of the lane way. I've found them to not be friendly.
Can now keep up to 3000 meat birds without quota, can't remember turkey number. Know a farmers daughter doing quite well doing this. But it's all about location, close to Ottawa. People (customers) will only drive so far.
Did farmers markets for 8 years with pork and market garden goods. A lot of time for little net dollars. Won't do it again.
