white combine

I'm looking for any history on white combines. 5542 in particular. ie years made etc

What I remember they were made from 1975 - 1984. Not sure on the exact time frame. they were a 42 in. machine and were popular in western Canada. In our area the only brand and model that was more popular was a MF 750 and 510. They had a 80 bushel hopper and a 107 hp. engine.

Just happen to have one of my books laying here...

Years produced under the White designation...
T-55001................1975
T-65001................1976
T-76001................1977
T-81301................1978
T-94401................1979
T-105501..............1980
T-200301..............1981

Previous to 1975 they were labeled Cockshutt in Canada and Oliver in the US. Oliver models were sold from 1969 thru '76. I believe Cockshutt would have commenced in '69 as well. Was an updated version of the 542.

Was a few years back now, but I remember about a fellow who picked up a 555 that had a thread on here with those old girls being discussed, you might find something there of interest, also search more on the forum for others. Here is that one...
