Jvw I think the reality is that even if you did not get all the right permits they can not keep you from living in a house on your own land. The permits are around to increase the tax revenue. They want a way to increase your assessment to get more potential tax revenue. Permits have little to do with saftey. You are likey better to not ask questions and plead ignorance if they come after you.

In Red Deer county they care about bit more than development permit - electrical, gas, septic/plumbing, heck even a driveway(if you putting a new one in) required.

**** there all like that. Technically I canít build a shed or take one down with out some **** permit. Lucky living in the country I can get away without having them
