Sounds like it was priceless, as the commercial used to say...But you should go back and do it when it's -30C...

In Europe last year there was Tesla cars around. Business guy there told me they sold lots when the gov't was paying part of the cost, now that is gone and sales have plummeted. Bad sign for a business when it relies on gov't to stay afloat. Plus that Elon Musk appears to be a bit unstable. Good car to rent not buy.

My guess, 500 bucks, a buck a mile?

Turo is notorious for having cheap rentals, but for a Tesla, I'd have to guess somewhere in the 150 to 200 a day.

My cousin was working at a high end dealership in Calgary about ten years ago or so. I think it was the Bentley Austin Martin dealership. They had sold a Fisker, an electric performance car, It was right before the company went under. Shortly after, the battery went to crap. It was a $35,000 replacement item, if you could get one, which you couldn't, so they guy who bought this car basically ended up with a very expensive paper weight. I don't recall what happened to the car, but the dealership did end up taking it on trade on something else.

There was an article written by a couple of guys who drove a tesla model 3 from LA to New York in the winter. Apparently there was times when they had to leave the heater off so that they could make it to the next charging station. Sounds like fun to me. I couldn't find the whole article, https://www.theverge.com/2018/1/2/16...cannonball-run

Statistics are like a Bikini. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal, is vital.

LA they rent for 350 a day. Phoenix we rode in an uber where the guy rented it for $250 a day, but was an older version. I'd say around 400 bucks.

Would you buy one Don?

This is what I see taking over the diesel industry. Have been watching this tech for awhile, seems pretty impressive.

Tesla is like a prius or smart car. It has it's place but it's not for everyone.
