    Dear Kinzepower,
My name is Donnie Estes, designer of the Estes RPR Thrashing/Separating concave system and I want to thank you very much for your post "Tips for setting top corn quality out of STS combines". I have had some questions about my system with cracked corn, in some conditions and of cores if it's cracking this year with their new RPR kit it is my fault. I would like your permission to send a copy of your post along with my kits so my customers are aware of the problem. You can call me sometime, as I would like to visit with you . 765-258-4024 Thanks Donnie

We'll have to change both header for next year, probably going to 12 row rotadisk geringhoff and looking for a 35 ft draper. We already have the big cylinder kit on the combine and the big 22 ft unloading auger. I guess I would have to change my variable speed pully on the feeder for the 12 row corn head... But chopper knives have to be change, need a new feeder chain, auger flighting and tube to fill up the grain tank is worn out, Concave must be change and probably some rotor paddles(the spike at the back) Combine is 2100 hr on the rotor.

These are the reason why we are thinking of changing the combine. This or we change the headers and put 20K on the combine to keep it another 3 years...

Oh yeah just curious what speed do you run in soybeans? we had to switch the rotor to second gear to go fast enough not to get some rotor losses. even the S670 was setup like this

    Thanks again

It was pretty good this year. considering we didn't have the best conditions. Corn was dry this year and mature but not real even. I've harvested fields at some customers where yield would vary from 6 to 12 ton to the Ha. In these condtions we had to increase rotor speed at around 450 and rotor would range from 20 to 30 depending of yield. Rotor speed at 300 really increased quality but we had some rotr losses so we had to go faster. I have the slow speed feeder house sprocket and slow peed feed accelerator. we change the feed accelerator paddles for the smooth ones finaaly we didn't try the swept back.
